Got a little bit more work done today. With the right tools and much prudence, I figured out that I can run my gauge wires through the same grommet as the harness that runs from the accelerator pedal to the TAC module.

 

My original harness, with a replacement grommet I recycled from a junkyard harness.

 

 

While at the laundromat, I got the wires for the 2 BAR MAP sensor through the grommet. I chose to remove the pedal harness wires first, as the pins on the old Bosch style MAP sensor connector are kinda big. Here's the sensor wires and half of the pedal harness wires through the grommet.

 

 

 

And the rest of the pedal harness wires through the grommet, and everything taped and tidy. It's going to be a tight squeeze with 5 more wires from the wideband oxygen sensor connector, but I think it will be ok.

Yes, I will scour the junkyards to get a short wire harness with grommet so I dont have to drill a hole in my firewall.

Been working on a little bracket to mount my giant Bosch style MAP sensor on. Had some 1/8"×1" angle aluminum left over from other projects that will work fine. I really need to invest in a band saw.

The hardware : Extra oil cooler delete bolts, slightly modified extruded nuts from a tranny cooler bracket, and 2 that used to hold the wire harness to the top of the intake manifold.

I'll get a pic of where I intend to mount it when I go to lunch.

I believe that the 2 studs sticking out of my firewall will be a good place to hang my map sensor bracket.

 

 

And with the bracket and sensor. Going to trim a bunch of the excess material from the bracket, kinda give it a custom look...because I can.[

If it was me, I would take a heavy rasp and then a file to all of the corners on that bracket. A nice smooth radius will not only look better, but probably save you some blood and maybe a torn shirt down the road.

Somehow or another, one of my terminal tools got bent, so I invested in the Lisle 3 piece set with grip attachment, number 57750. Gotta say, I love it. Made this a helluva lot easier.

I'll get some more tape around the 3 bundles and the end of the grommet when everything is in and situated as far as how much length I need on the engine side of the firewall. I'm working on a different (unique?) mounting solution for the gauges, involving a SN95 mustang pod. That is completely dependent upon how much wire I have to work with inside the truck.

How about moving it next to the A pillar, might be able to hide the wires much easier. I was thinking toward the wind shield without coving the VIN might be an option too.

Sure looks good for a mustang part on a chevy truck dash. Must be quasi related to the mustang supercharger that I have and the mustang air inlet duct that comes in a chevy truck supercharger air inlet kit.

As far as hiding the wires, I haven't decided if I am going to Velcro mount the pod to the dash and run the wires under the dash mat, or bite the bullet and drill some holes. Just have to see how much wire length I will have inside.
