This happened before I changed the oil filter this morning...

Gauge isn't hooked up yet. We taped up the connector and tied it off safely for now. It's nice and accessible though.

I realize that the mounting angle is not ideal, but it had to go before the cat, and that was the most accessible place, given the 8' length of the wire harness from the gauge.

Also, I kinda got the injectors sitting where I want them. Seems that my 1/2" spacers are more suitable as LS9 to LS2 spacers, as this is how they fit in a truck manifold with a flex fuel rail.

Yeah, I'm camera happy sometimes. I also recommend Hellman's Real Mayonnaise for all automotive projects.

From the side, the injectors don't appear to be equally situated in the vertical plane. Yet the tips all line up on the bottom. This is bacause the plastic around the injector bosses varies in thickness. I measured.

Oh, and if anyone has an Autometer wideband gauge, here is the part number of the sensor.

Forgot to mention why I removed the y-pipe to put the sensor bung on. I didn't want the metal shavings from drilling the hole getting in my cat and causing problems. Also, much easier to weld the fitting on with unrestricted access. Knowing a well seasoned mechanic/racer helps significantly. We were done in less than an hour.

On to some detail work... wasn't looking forward to this part at all. Have to heat up the gauge pod and fit it to my pillar trim. Then EEK! drill holes in my pillar trim. After a thorough cleaning, the gauge pod will be secured with the included push fasteners and 3M mounting tape.

That did not work out at all. I may never buy another autometer pillar pod. Damn thing flowed instead of conforming. I'll spare you the pics of the aftermath. Just know it's in the dumpster.

On a lighter note, I finished the hookup for the boost/vacuum gauge earlier today.

I drilled and tapped the plug that replaces the vacuum booster connection. Used a 1/8" NPT close nipple to mate with the compression fitting connection for the reference line.

Borrowed an old throttle body for mock up purposes. I must say that I am surprised at the fit of the 4"×3" 90° boot that I got from siliconeintakes.com. I have read several bad reviews about them, but my experience with them has been top notch.

I think my truck is acting up so I can't supercharge it. I was checking the fuel pressure for my calculations with the LS9 injectors. Fuel pressure was less than 40psi key on engine off. Might explain the lack of snappiness lately. Yay another delay.

Made some progress today. Lots, actually. I set out just to get my gauges mounted, but I got them mounted, plumbed/wired, and mostly functional. Ran out of daylight before I could get the lighting wired. Getting the wires and pressure tubing through the firewall and up the a-pillar was surprisingly easy. I used a preexisting hole in the grommet for the accelerator pedal wiring that was left over from the shoddy remote start. After the wires and such were inside the cab, it took about 5 minutes to fish them over by the tccm, then basically straight up to the a-pillar, stopping at the fuse box for some ignition hot power.

Up and running.

Wideband connector. I believe that I will be relocating this in the near future. Solid where it is, but too exposed to salt and water.

The communal grommet.

Wideband power source. Wideband is grounded on the tccm bracket, behind the knee bolster.

I'm all ears for suggestions on where to get lighting power only when the headlights are on.
