Not counting my screw ups, and the labor for the oil pan and o2 sensor bung, 3200. Less than a vortech kit for a gas engine. They don't make a kit for a flex engine of my vintage, or I would have gotten one. The labor for the oil pan and the o2 sensor bung was about 240, but I know the owner of the shop that did it for over 15 years, and he charged me for actual time, not book time.

I know the feeling tooooooo well. In my younger days, Mr Miyagi would not say a word, then run and hide while the well deserved fit got thrown. Now he comes around, sometimes he talks, other times he decides he wants to see if I have learned to control myself. Depending on the price to repair whatever it is makes a big difference in whether it should be "sledge-o-matic" or I should take time and regroup.

The audible stepper motor in my afr gauge is getting on my nerves a little. I'm stubborn and I refuse to give up believing in Autometer quality. Perhaps packing sponge in the pod around it will muffle it some.

Got some much needed work done today. Found another bargain at the junkyard too. First and foremost, I replaced my fuel pump module. I imagine that the filthy black strainer on the old pump was at least partially responsible for barely making 40psi in the rail. Makes 50psi no problem now. I'll have pics of the old pump after Monday, as it is airing out. While my Burby was in the air, she lost a little weight, too.

Now I can get to the sanding and application of bedliner, undercoating, etc. Had to cut the running board brackets off, as 1/3 of the bolts attaching the brackets to the frame are torx head, rusty, and easily stripped.

Got my new boost gauge today. Yaaaay! This thing is sexy, as it should be given the price.

Also, while I was having the fuel pump replaced, I found the rear brake backing plates to be in very poor shape. No biggie, I already have the dorman plates at home, and 3 quarts of mobil 1 gear oil. What I didnt have is new parking brakes, because even by my vin, there are multiple options and the only way to know is to take it apart first. I found this box of awesomeness instead.

Unfortunately, the Vortech air inlet will not connect to my AirAid intake stuff. Alignment is off by about 3 1/2". Oh well, the AirAid Kit sucks enough of my hood insulator off without the draw of a supercharger. I may take advantage of the factory hole in my diesel air box bracket and perhaps run a tube of some sort down in front of the wheel well, behind the headlight, kinda like where the AirAid one is now. I had to dispose of my stock air box because the lid was cracked, and the threaded inserts for the lid retaining screws pulled out. I may try a couple of things to enhance airflow through the dorman box.
