Seem to have a problem with my oil retention. I'm very pissed about this and I am seriously considering disposing of all the supercharger

stuff because of it.

Take a deep breath or two and then figure out where the leak is and fix it. Trust me when I say I know you are aggravated and want to throw in the towel.

Absolutely ridiculous, but the oil pan gasket is fine. Apparently, my AC Delco PF46E has a manufacturing defect. Thanks for the support Muddkatt.

Also ridiculous, I had to buy a whole intake manifold to get a flex fuel rail. I go to my 4 local upullit yards (one is called u pick it) every weekend when the weather permits, and I just could not find any flex fuel trucks in the last few months. Oh well, the intake manifold was surprisingly clean, and I now have a spare set of flex fuel injectors and a spare purge valve. 150 was still more than I wanted to spend though.

Going to dick around with injector position tomorrow while my oil filter is replaced and my oxygen sensor bung is welded on.

Apparently, my AC Delco PF46E has a manufacturing defect.

 

Amazing that an $8 filter can cause such a worry. Glad it was something simple and you can move on to the next step.

The new AC Delco PF**E filters are not a "good" filter but a cheaper, lesser filter than the previous, non "E" filters in my experience.

 

The filter core is much more flimsy. The overall filter is cheaply constructed compared to previously.

 

After using AC filters for 20 years on my GM stuff, I have gone to buying Wix or Hastings. Much better filters. Since I personally do all the maintenance on the family fleet, I buy half a dozen of each type I need (mail order) when I see a good price. A good price is usually half the price of an AC filter (and they are better quality).

 

I had a PF46E with a poorly formed top plate/seal surface. Actually deformed. Blew the seal out upon start after an oil/filter change Pumped six fresh quarts of Mobil 1 Extended 5w-30 on the floor in 15 seconds... Pissed me off.

 

At least it was in my shop and not on the road.

Not looking forward to getting 6 wires and a vacuum line through the firewall. Any suggestions?

 

If you can't use an existing hole, then drill a new one and add a rubber grommet.

Yuck, I hate drilling holes in firewalls. So much stuff to try and miss on either or both sides. If I have to I will.

 

I have used delco PF**E filters for over 10 years and never had a problem until my last oil change. I'll keep other brands in mind next oil change. Put a new PF46E on today. Seems ok for now...

      You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.

      You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
