Rubber plugs in rockers

I have a CC what are the rubber plugs in the rockers for ? Does something mount there?

No idea but i got the dealer to give me a set that match my paint color.

There usually where someone has drilled to undercoat the inside of the rockers,then they just put a plug into it, if done properly as well will see them in doors etc

The GM side steps mount to them. you take the plug out and insert a U-nut through the hole.

That's not how they were mounted to my truck from the factory then. The plugs were there to. The side steps were mounted on to loops that are formed with the body stamping and bolt holes on the inside above where these plugs are.

Yes please,I have factory running boards coming and would like to see how they mount. Going to pull one of the plugs, just to see whats in there. Maybe shoot some FluidFilm in there while Im at it.
