2016 clunking?

Well I can see the sarcasm, my truck stickers for 74K and it clunks quite bit. Mine is a Denali Yukon XL so this u bolt theory won't apply as it doesn't have leaf springs. Both of my pickups in this platform did the same thing. Its the very poor programming of the transmission IMHO. It never knows what it's doing when going slow. 2 6 speeds and now the 8 speed.

When I TQed the u-bolt nuts on my '14 it completely got rid of the clunking. Also my 6 speed only acted weird and confused for the first 2-3,000 miles while it was in "learn mode". After that it's been working perfect and not even exaggerating. I know the first 8 speeds that was paired with the 6.2 had problems, but I believe it was fixed for the '16s.

My 2015 Sierra rear end clunks a lot. Reversing into parking spots, driving real slow over rough surfaces like my lawn. Dealership told me it was normal and claimed to have torqued the leaf pack. I torqued the ubolts up to 79lbs with no budge. Tried fluid filming the leafs, and still pops, creaks, clunks. Just learned to live with it for now.

The denali truck does not have rear leafs??? I Find that hard to believe.

Yukon Denali = no leafs.

Ya Yukon isn't leafs since it's an SUV which I was surprised to learn the late GM SUVs don't have the leafs. Same goes for the Avalanche which I thought was based on the truck. The Sierra Denali on the other hand is leafs like a truck should have.

Most people who buy the Yukon use it as a people carrier and not a towing/hauling machine. Leafs are better for towing and hauling but offer worse on road manners.

Torqued mine down this morning. They were under 50 lbs. I was able to get almost a 1/2 turn with the wrench set for 50. Then set for 75 and another half turn. Not sure I got the full 135 degrees after that, but my clunk seems to be gone.
