Creaky Center Console (Latch)

I was wondering if anyone else has this issue it happens when the car is warm primarily but does it all the time. In my opinion my center console should not do this. Only recently started doing it probably around 3500 miles.

this absolutely obnoxious and unholy sound, a newborn car should never make, unless the materials/specs were CHEAP, then again this car is hardly anywhere near CHEAP, so it must be your imagination increasing your sensitivity towards the subject due to daily life stress pulling one on you, so they'll WD-40 spray that junk of a console and tell you everything is cool and your truck is totally worth every penny, they just forgot to include the WD-40 in the package! thats it.

Mine does it also. Not nearly as bad though.

Apparently perfectly acceptable per GM quality control standards (if they have any at all).

I had that, but it wasn't the latch. It was the lid plastic rubbing on the console plastic near the front. You could actually see the rub marks if you opened the lid. There's two *cheap* rubber bumpers in the corners to cushion the parts, but they are too soft to even handle the weight of your arm, so the plastic parts touch. They might as well not be there. I solved it by placing black felt on the button of the lid at the rub points, and chalked it up to GM being cheap again.

My midnight does the same thing just when I have my arm on the console it creaks

annoying as hell, I put the carpet side of velco tape on each side by the rubber stop, Fixed!

Mine has nothing to do with the lid it self it is the handle and latch plastic that are making the sound. I can lift the lid and push on it with my fingers and it will still make the sound.

My 2014 High Country center console made that same noise too. I simply took a small (quarter size) piece of brown felt pad, and stuck it on the contact point between the console itself, and the lid. Noise gone, problem solved!
