Truck sold w/o Apple Car Play

Wow when I bought mine it took them 20 min to update. It had apple car play but wouldn't work with android

Yeah, the GM press release said it should take about 30 minutes. Someone else here said to plan on 3 hours. I called to make the appointment and they told me 2 hours.

Same here, they hooked me up and sold my old components. I am so glad I did this before parts ran out.

 

How much was the 2016 radio?

Total out of pocket after I was credited for my old equipment was $600ish. You keep the same screen and stuff. I changed out 3 items, one behind the glove box, one behind screen and USB port in center console.

HMI, USB port and something else, can't remember. He was doing $100 discount for members at the time. So, I believe it was $1099 initially. My old equip. sold for $500.

I just picked up a 2016 Sierra Denali and tried to connect my Samsung phone. No joy. It has the Apple CP but not the update for the Samsung. Called my sales guy and told him I wanted it added when I bring it back for mud flaps next week. He told me it was 50 bucks to program the update. I of course told him I would not be paying for it. I found an article online from GM that said updates would be provided free to customers.

I LOVE using ACP for Google maps, messages etc while on the road for work. I just wanted the same feature in the truck I just spent $32k on, compared to the stock Malibus and Camaros I rent haha!

How are you using CarPlay with google maps, it's not supported.

Got called that the update worked and to pick up the truck. But my sales guy tried it just to be sure (ive had the truck a week) and said the service tech did it with an apple phone (cant believe they pluged that garbage into my new truck) and said it didn't work.

 

Going to try "something else" tomorrow..... Whatever that means.

Auto correct turned off..... I txt a lot in Spanish so that freaks everything out.

New member here.....quick question. 

 

I bought a used 2016 SLE with the 8 inch screen and it has no projection icon. 

My question is ...does my truck have the 2.5 HMI in it and all it needs is an update because the software wasn’t available yet when it was built?.... or does it need the radio, HMI, and usb upgrade like a 2015?
