Have your drive shaft checked for excessive runout tolerances as far as it being bent or not straight. Balance will probably be ok but definately check straightness of the shaft which will cause it to make your truck shake.

I was going to mention this 2 years ago but figured I would get laughed at. If my Silverado had the good vibrations issues that would be the first thing to get checked. But from prior experience. I would just have a new one made

Cost me $86.00 to have it trued and shake-vibration is gone! Balance checked out to be perfect after it was trued though.

Curious to see if anyone else's driveshaft has been off from factory, or if it's just yours.

All of the Trucks that are shaking and vibrating I guarantee they have out of tolerance drive shafts. Thats what my symptom was and it's long gone now!

Do you pay any money for your guarantee? Mine was checked with no issues and still vibrates.

Put rear of truck on jackstands in front of a brick wall incase it falls off. Take off rear wheels

 

Put truck in drive, run it up to vibration speed. If no vibration. Put rear tires back on see if it vibrates then.

 

You can eliminate a lot of potential sources with this.

The shop couldn't believe the OEM shaft was that good. He said they strive for .03 or better for non-HD applications.

 

Probably shortly will just buy a new one anyway, I don't want this to grenade on me while run 100+ in MX....

Damn .040 is alot! it should be .005 or less. Mine was .067 which is a touch over 1/16th of an inch now it's right at .005

.004 and .003 for the above numbers.
