litlmeal Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) Loud whistle sound coming from engine when cold and sometimes while driving.will also do it at idle sound as if it is coming from right side if engine Edited October 30, 2016 by litlmeal
Jsdirt Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 I'd be checking the airbox, intake tube, MAF, and throttle body for debris - mouse nest, or some other little rodent may have built something in there.
litlmeal Posted October 30, 2016 Author Posted October 30, 2016 I have removed throttle body and cleaned it.it was extremly dirty and replaced throttle body seal. Intake pipe from air filter is clear. Air cleaner box does have a cracked corner but doesnt seem to be where sound is coming from.
litlmeal Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 Also is it normal for engine to die if intake pipe to air cleaner is removed while running?
Jsdirt Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 If air stops going through the mass airflow sensor, it'll run like crap, and/or stall.
Bulldog13 Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 So what was the fix for throttle body whistling noise I have the same problem noise comes from the linkage as you Rev it up it goes away when you give it gas but the whistling noise comes back at idle I got it after I sprayed sea foam threw the throttle body never will I use sea foam for my cars anymore it doesn't work and it just causes more issues I just ordered another throttle body to replace in a week I should see if that fits whistling noise will keep all of you updated and give everyone a answer after fix because it looks like nobody posts the fix after they got the repair done.
