KyleGT Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Don't laugh, but try downloading the My Buick app. I haven't had to try it myself but heard at the dealership that they have ongoing issues with the GMC app, but the Buick one will work. Might be complete BS, but it doesn't cost anything to try it My GMC, MY Chevy and MY Buick are all the same app. They just look a little different. They all use your GM owner center log in info. I just downloaded the Buick one and logged in, and my truck, my wife's Acadia, and my old Avalanche all show up on it.
redwngr Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 But they are supposed to be an improvement over the old 'Onstar app' that many may still using.

Colossus Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Some want/need to be able to start it when out of range for the fob. Yup. I can see this coming in handy when on your way to your vehicle via an airport shuttle in the middle of a winter storm. Or perhaps you work in a building that has a parking garage. Start the truck up when you leave your desk, and by the time you get there, the engine has been running for a few minutes, enough for heat to start coming out of the vents, and away you go.
Colossus Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 That is probably who they transferred my call to. Anyhow, got a call yesterday afternoon from On Star (caller ID) and a Tech told me he was sending the request to his supervisor, and I should get a call by the end of the week, and will likely just need to log out and re-log into MyGMC to activate the new Key FOB App.....so, for the heck of it, I log off, then logged back on MyGMC this morning, and there it was, a Remote Start for my truck Wow, they actually called you back? I'm impressed.
Beer Belly Posted November 14, 2016 Author Posted November 14, 2016 Wow, they actually called you back? I'm impressed. yeah, I was a bit shocked myself
Colossus Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Maybe there is hope for GM Customer service after all..
Ridersfan Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 The big thing that many forget about when using Onstar remote commands... is after 7 or 10 days (can't remember with certainty which it is) it will not work anymore. A module goes to sleep in your vehicle to preserve battery and it won't remote start or unlock from your phone anymore. So after a 6 day beach holiday, you can start your truck as you're landing at the airport... but after a 2 week... you're warming it up cold and sweeping snow off
