2015 Sierra no Remote Start App

So, my Wife and I finally got smart phones, and I installed the MY GMC App and found the Remote Start is not on the Key FOB part of the app.....everything else is ?. It turns out that Dealer installed Remote Starts are not recognized, even if it is a GM kit ?. I was told (by the dealer) that GM is ramping up the dealer installed kit to be accessed via MY GMC app., and they'll let me know when it becomes available. I can understand aftermarket, but it's a GM Kit, installed by a GM Dealer.....anybody else run into this ?

This sounds suspect. I've had the OnStar and MyGMC apps for two years with my '14 and even after the OnStar subscription expired the remote start still works via both apps.

I contacted On*Star, and they told me the truck does not have the Software, when I brought it to the dealer figuring maybe there was something missing from the install, they told me that GM is allowing Dealer Installed Remote Starts a few Models / Years at a time via MYGMC App. Just wondering if anybody was able to get theirs done, and how ?.

Log into the App then scroll to the bottom and go into "Edit Dashboard" and make sure you have the button checked to make it show up in the App.

If that doesn't work then it's whatever OnStar told you :nonod:

I was just being a smart azz... sorry about that.

Wife and I went out to dinner a few nights ago. We parked across the street and up the block a bit from the eatery. When the time came to leave I hit the lock and then start button on the fob while sitting at the table, and truck was out of sight. I did this not knowing whether or not the truck would start but gave it a shot just for the heck of it, and it did start. I was quite surprised.

Don't laugh, but try downloading the My Buick app. I haven't had to try it myself but heard at the dealership that they have ongoing issues with the GMC app, but the Buick one will work. Might be complete BS, but it doesn't cost anything to try it :)

Call or email and ask for tier 2 tech support to create a ticket for it and it will happen. Worked for my own personal 2017, so this is 1st hand experience here. I had to sign out of app and back in again... voila, it was there.

I called the Executive Office that I dealt with while logging a complaint about my headlamps...they put me thru to Technology, who then said my request has been escalated, and will likely hear from them in 5-7 days......I'll let you know how it works out.

Onstar is who you need tier 2 help from... not GM

That is probably who they transferred my call to. Anyhow, got a call yesterday afternoon from On Star (caller ID) and a Tech told me he was sending the request to his supervisor, and I should get a call by the end of the week, and will likely just need to log out and re-log into MyGMC to activate the new Key FOB App.....so, for the heck of it, I log off, then logged back on MyGMC this morning, and there it was, a Remote Start for my truck
