Center Console on 2017 1500

I'm currently looking to purchase a 2017 1500 LT Z71 with the jump seat in the middle. I want to swap it out with a center console in the future. After looking at GM parts direct I've found all the parts I need however the console says it is discontinued. (of course I would need the black console) I cannot find the correct part anywhere. Will the console from a 2014 fit in a 2017? I know they are different part numbers. I read the previous posts extensively about swapping a console in a 2014 and I know I can do it, just have to find the parts. Thanks for the help in advance.

Why don't you just find a truck with a console, or order one as you're looking at '17 anyway?

Yeah, I agree with just buying one with the console in it. If you're set on a '17, there should be plenty out there with the console.

My local dealer is trying to unload inventory and they are offering over 10k off in stock models. They aren't about to locate a truck, ship it, and then take 10K off.

They might, If they aren't willing to trade with another dealer then you should try another dealer. All dealerships will try to move what is on their lots first but they can also do a dealer trade, When I was truck shopping in 2015, this was my experience. Salesman would try to give you a great deal of what is on their lots, then try to sell you what they could bring in from another dealership.

Thats what the dealer I used did, located another tagged discount '17 and went and got it. exactly the way I wanted it and discounted as well.

Yes the console from an older 14-16 truck should work. The cup holders in the 16-17 were changed and you can't swap them around as easily as the older ones. Physically the foot print of the consoles is the same though. As for what these guys are saying. My dealer got the truck I wanted from another over 200 miles away. They gave me the same discounts as what they had on the lot. If yours won't do that then it's time to go somewhere else. Good Luck Man.

That's why I bought my truck with the console already. It would be 500-1k out of my pocket to add it.

Keep shopping for what you want. Any idiot that walks through the doors get at least 10k off. 12-14k is more like it.
