Other Tune Types?

I know a lot of people like Black Bear, but I want to see if there are any other tunes out there that people like? I want something easy.. I can just order, plug in, upload and drive. Would like to avoid the back and forth required for a BBP tune.

Also - I have a 6.2 with the 8 speed .... do these tunes clean up the 8 speed? I though I read it helps the 6 speed a lot, but not so much the 8 speed? Cleaning up the trans is my big thing

Any input would be great.

Superchips is probably one of the, if not the easiest to use. Comes ready to go out of the box, just plug into the OBDII, go through the options and select the tune you would like.

They will be releasing their pro model soon which will give you the ability the add custom tunes later down the road if you would like as well as having their standard options.

Do you have this one? Also, I'm guessing you cannot revert back to stock with any of these tunes ( I know you can with Black Bear)

Canned tunes are just that, canned tunes. To reach full potential you'll need the autocal feature. I'm not sure what other tuners do that.

I am not sure if any of the other hand helds have settings for the new 8spd but I can tell you that I am currently using a HyperTech that does NOT have that ability. I am waiting for HyperTech to send an update for the 8spd. That is OK with me as the main reason I bought it was it has the ability to set the AFM to only kick in at a set speed (currently using 50mph)

Yes I am currently running the Superchips, if there's any specific questions you have on it I'd be happy to help.

The super chips gives you the option of always going back to stock.

Typically what I recommend to people (which is a very nice feature on these newer trucks) is set your program whenever you'd like it, and then when you go to bring in your truck for any service work GM is able to do any software updates needed and you won't have any issues.

When you get your truck back, set it back to whatever tune you'd like and you're on your way.

Based off these other comments, if you are wanting more the new Superchips Pro gives you all of their standard features + the added option of being able to do custom tunes.

Their programing is going to be based off of HP Tuners, so any Dyno Shop or even someone with the ability of creating tune files using HP tuners at home will be able to upload the tunes onto the programer.

For me, I went with blackbear, but I I personally would have only looked at diablo and blackbear.

I don't buy anything in life without reading tons of postive reviews, and they both have that.

IS diablo plug up and go ? do you have a link ?

Technically, it is supposed to be a fairly plug and play setup. But to be completely honest I've had nothing but in the past. Have had terrible luck with using anything Diablo, and their customer service... well, lacks the service.
