2016 High Country issues

So it seems I've got an issue with my CCSB High Country. I get a vibration that feels like a harmonic when in light acceleration so far between about 35-70mph. I'm guessing it's got something to do with PIP5337E (which may not be the latest revision so if someone does have the latest one, I'd love to get it). I do have the 6.2l and 8 speed. Which means I am likely going to be getting a new torque converter! Appointment scheduled for tomorrow.

The conditions listed in that SB seem to align pretty much exactly what I've experienced, doesn't occur from a launch, doesn't occur above 1600rpm, doesn't occur when decelerating, doesn't only occur in V4 mode, the only thing I haven't noticed is an RPM vibration on the tachometer.

Currently it looks like the replacement torque converter is 24279497, but is that an upgrade from the stock one my truck was built with or is it just the same one hoping that it also isn't bad? Also, are they new or re-manufactured if the dealership is installing it?

Also, looks like there's a bulletin 39370 that may relate to my transmission, can anyone give me that info?

Another thing, I have the wireless charging on my center console, but even with multiple phones (friends) trying to use it, it seems temperamental as hell to get it to charge, if I get it at all. Is there a trick I don't know? The pad is perfectly clear of anything, just the phone.

Finally, is there anything I have to say/do to get them to update the stereo software/nav unit (I try to keep everything I have up to date) or is that something they'd be charging to do or even something I could do on my own? I have an iPhone so the Android update may not apply.

Thanks!

I haven't experienced this in my truck yet and have the same setup as you. I guess I need to pay more attention. So it's a vibration on light acceleration?

I noticed you will have to have the phone you want to charge all the way to the back of the charging pad. My friend charged his that way on it it he has an android. You cannot charge you iPhone on there. It is not supported. I have a iPhone too.

Easiest way to replicate it is to put the cruise control at about 60mph and see if you get occasional vibration in the steering wheel. Preferably straight and level but it also happens on slight climbs so long as it doesn't have to downshift or jump the throttle up. I noticed it a while ago randomly once or twice but never could reproduce it. Sometime about last week it seems to have gotten over the hill and it's quite consistent. I'm right around 14k miles.

I know the wireless charging isn't supported on iPhones, but when I tried it on my friends Androids it was hard to get working as well. I paid enough for the truck that it should work, lol.

Anthony,

Thank you for the offer. I'll send you my information but at this point I don't want to ruffle the dealerships feathers too much and give them a chance to do their thing and make it right at the lowest level. I've got an appointment in about 3 hours.

Anthony, you're going to love this.

Took the truck in for a 1:15pm appointment today (I actually arrived about 25 mins early). They said no loaners, so I opted to sit in the waiting room while they atleast diagnosed the truck. He came back about an hour later and said they need to have their expert on shaking look at it, that I can take the truck home and they'll call me when they have a loaner. I said alright and took the truck home.

Well, just out of curiosity on how long they looked at it before giving up and deciding the shake specialist needed to evaluate it, I pulled my dashcam footage. It shows my truck being moved into a parking lot behind the service center right at my appointment time. The next time it moved, it was to pull it back out front for me. What's the point of making an appointment if the time is just going to be used to shuffle my truck and then send me home with it?

So, I guess I know now that the dealership does not value my time and I had taken a half day off of work for absolutely nothing. If you think this is improper (as I do), please go ahead and start contacting the dealership.

^^WOW^^

! ! ! !

No kidding...

They called back and gave me a loaner LT Colorado. Gonna miss my truck driving this thing around but at least they did that much.

He said the tech drove it around enough to notice the vibration but couldn't identify it, that's a bold faced lie but not worth arguing yet.

That's crazy. I would have them put their notes in writing and then show them the dash cam footage. Then see what happens.

They'd say that I am leaving out footage and claim I am trying to lie to them or something. Ya know, admit nothing, deny everything and make counter accusations?

Calling them on it won't gain you anything other than tension. Hopefully this has a happy ending for you

That's how I feel too. Just nice to know when I'm being lied to.
