After market Fuel gauge sender

Are there any after market fuel gauge sending units that fit on 2000 Sierra 4.8L, instead of the crummy stock part?

 

I do not want to go through the hassel of dropping the tank or removing the bed to get to it, then have to do it again 30K miles later.

I e-mailed GM asking if they sell the sending unit separate from the pump. This is their response:

I am sorry GM does not offer the sender separate from the pump.

The part cost $361, plus tax and S&H...Looks like the odometer has double as my fuel gage for now...
