When I finish Millwright apprenticeship I plan on pulling the trigger on one of these bad boys preferably with the 6.2. Also planning either a 4.5 or a 6" zone with 33 or 34's. Can't wait!

Detail, but

Long box (8') crew is only available in 25/35 series

6.2 only available in 1500

I'm guessing your hoping for pics of 1500 crew cab standard box (6.5') vs the short box (5'8")

There's lots of pics of them on here.

Yes I'm fully aware that 6' is the long box for the 1500's. Thx

This an opportunity to have this configuration in a designated thread. Stock or not.

Well best of luck, even though I am in engineering now and have not worked the trade since 98 I have been a Millwright since 88

Saskatoon is a lovely city! I have family living there! I find referring to the standard box as a long box humorous because for decades this size was called the short box! This term would make the 8ft box (once was the most popular size), an oversized or supersized or biggysized box. I agree that the 6'6" box is longer than the 5'8" box but referring to it as a long box is incorrect at this time. You are looking for pictures of "crew cab standard bed trucks".

See my avatar. It's an HD, but same body style nonetheless.

Love the extra bed space, but parking in small parking lots can be challenging at time, just need to plan ahead. Back up camera is a HUGE help!

Nice

How's the longer wheelbase for parking lots and what not?

It can be a little tight is some parking lots. A lot of the parking spaces are not big enough.

I have had both versions, I totaled a '14 CC std bed truck & replaced w/ the exact same color/trim combo, but w/ the short bed. Here are my thoughts

The CC std bed is absolutely harder to maneuver, you need to take extra care pulling out whenever there's a pole/mailbox/light etc on either side of you - need to make wide turns. It is a PITA to park anywhere except pulling to the side of the road w/ no other vehicles around - backing into spaces is a requirement. When not leveled, even though it is only a foot longer, the std bed CC trucks look REALLY low to the ground...GM trucks are already the lowest riding the extra long body does nothing to help. They look much better leveled.

The plus side? That extra foot of space DOES come in handy....my 9' kayak now sticks out further, I can't close my bed when carrying my ATV (really sucks), and also one thing that is def noticeable once you've had both - the trucks were CLEARLY designed to have the std bed mated to the CC....take a look at the fuel door, that bent door on the short bed sticks out to me like a sore thumb now compared to the std bed.

Short bed = easier to park, seems to handle better (I def think so), a bit lighter, looks better when @ stock ride height IMO. That is it.

These trucks are already big to begin w/ if garage/parking space isn't an issue for you & you don't need to commute to a city & actually carry stuff in the bed regularly I'd opt for the CC std bed.....I just was stuck because I needed a replacement for my totaled truck & was VERY hard to find a 6.2 CC std bed SLT w/ options I wanted....mostly shorties up here.

My last truck was a CC short box and my current truck is a CC standard bed. I prefer the size of the cc std. bed for looks and usefulness. The extra length is no more or less of an inconvenience for me in terms of maneuverability. These trucks are actually shorter than the very popular Ford SuperCabs of the 70's and 80's! I owned a couple of them so I am pretty comfortable with the size of the new trucks!
