Adding keypad keyless entry?

I know this is 2017 only... two questions:

 

2. The install info posted indicates a computer is necessary. Does this require windows, or can you do it yourself with a mac? (My dealer is horrible and I don't trust them to install anything).

 

No, you cannot do it. Welllll,maybe. You would have to subscribe to the AC Delco site that provides GM programming or at least GDS and have an MDI. Windows only. So, for the vast majority it's dealer only.

I'm definitely in the vast majority. :)

 

Assuming I can find a dealer who can find their backside with both hands.... will this work on a 2500, or is it 1500 only?

Shouldn't matter. But you never know with GM. Look to see if it is available for 2500.

Those can be pried open in under ten seconds with nothing more than a screwdriver.

The drivers side window can be opened in under 10 seconds with a rock. Locks only keep honest people out. I would put a non-chipped key inside this hitch, so they cant steal the rig. Or you could use one of these instead:
