I'm really tempted to buy this, but I don't want my truck to be the guinea pig. I'd like to see pics of them installed on a truck 1st. I'm sure they'll blend in on a black truck, but my truck is summit white and it would stick out.

I agree, it is a nice feature and don't know why GM hasn't incorporated it. Heck they copied the kick to open back hatch why not the keypad. The blue oval company also integrates it nicely into the vehicle so you can't really even tell it is there.

I added one to a older Ford f250 I had. You basically went through the steps of adding a new fob to the truck. The combination and lock/unlock options were controlled by the keypad. So all it had to do was send a lock or unlock signal to the truck. The truck just assumed that it was a regular key fob

Does anyone know what wiring is required? Is it just constant power and ground? If so it could be easily added to any gm vehicle?

Looked at GMC's accessories page (http://www.gmc.com/trucks/sierra-1500-pickup-truck/accessories.html) and weirdly enough, it's not an option there. Presume it would work just the same.

My cousins husband works for a local Chevy dealer and ordered one so I could see what all came with it. It's pretty just a peel and stick transmitter. No wires. Here's the pics he sent me...

Huntr thanks for the info, but I was told there is a small transmitter box that also goes with it which takes the dealership to program it.

Is this not true??

I just asked him about the transmitter box. He said as far as he knows there is not one. He said that it just programs like the key fob remote.
