Front License Plate Mount

How are front license plates suppposed to mount to 2015 Sierras? There is a recessed gap in my front bumper where the filler plate goes. Does the license plate go directly in this spot or is there another plate attachment that pushes the license plate flush with the rest of the bumper?

 

It seems like the plate sits too far in if there is no additional part to mount the plate too.

Looks like something I want to do. Was this hard? I just got a 15' Sierra and have smooth bumber but I don't want to ruin the look I just want plate on top. What screw did you use, was it invasive to the bumber itself?

The front bumper already had the car out with 2 dimples in the plastic for mounting. I just screwed the plate directly into the plastic. It's been that way since I bought the truck new.

Yes, it was on the truck while sitting in the lot. Try asking your dealer if they can locate a part #. I'm sure the dealers just screw them on in states where front plates are required (like WI)
