2003 Silverado 1500 Electrical problem

I'm currently having problems with my map lights. When I activate the map lights at night they don't work, the bed light indicator comes on in the dash. The bed light doesn't come on either, but the indicator light does. Now here's the funny part. The dome light and map lights work while entering the vehicle and fade out as they should at night. During the day my map lights sometimes work. All i can figure is that the daylight sensor and control module need to be reset... I have no idea. Anyone else witness this?

Haven't had that problem on mine. I'd check for any modification wiring that you may have done (obviously, I have no idea if you have added anything which would require some rewiring).

 

I would certainly not worry about it and just take the truck to the dealer since it is a warranty issue.

I have always done the wiring myself when I install aftermarket electriacal components, like my stereo, amplifier, fog lights, etc. I tap into the factory harnesses most of the time, and I always pray that something electrical doesn't go wrong with the truck, because I know as soon as I take in it there, no matter what the problem is, they will blame it on "customer aftermarket installed accessories." Have you installed anything electrical?

I haven't added anything to the truck yet, except a air freshner or two.
