Since you're asking for opinions...I think those useless add-ons make you look like as if you're in the end state of your midlife crisis.

It is interesting how different modifications can be associated with age! Personally, I am past the crisis stage and still like adding functionality to my truck. The frequency of hauling 12' and 16' pieces of lumber are declining so I don't need the custom racks I had pre-midlife. I believe the bars being discussed here make more of an impact on looks than the function they provide. My interest at this time is motivated by my plans to build a deck this spring. Paying for delivery contradicts one of my key defenses for for having a truck and not a tiny SUV!

I love love love the bars like that on the older trucks....but I am not sure about the new ones...

My opinion wasn't meant to offend you.

To answer your question, I think it's a waste of money.

Definitely no offence was taken. I do believe that some modifications have an age appropriate component. These bars suit a truck with a more aggressive or custom look than I want from my truck. This particular accessory is for appearance with no significant functional value, imo. I would be better off with a more discrete "headache rack".

I love the sport bar ! Mine came with lights on it and I really haven't found and issues with hauling stuff around yet, makes it slightly tighter for stuff but I made a tonneau cover with it so I still have full functionality imo

I've been back and forth with this too for my truck. I like it, but don't think it'd suit a longer truck like mine with a standard bed and crew cab. On the flip side, I think a regular cab truck it would look better on. Just my opinion.

Put one on mine and get a lot of lookers checking it out.

Looks like they won't work with a tonneau cover.

there is a soft cover made by truxedo that works with no modifications.

Lookers have a lot to look at on your truck! Nice, strong looking truck!

Prefer the no side skirt installed look and is great for mounting offroad/utility lights. Would consider this and put a light bar but would never put a light bar over the windshield.

Edit for install question:

Does this require drilling the bed to install?

What model Truxedo do you have? I looked at the Titanium but it looks like the rails would interfere with the sport bar.
