I'm looking to order a diy plasti dip kit, and wanting get opinions on color. My 15' is Tungsten, and I'd like to go with some shade of gray. Plasti dip has a couple offerings, either anthracite, or dark gray. Any Tungsten guys use either of these?

What are you dipping? Wheels? I have an Lt cc tungsten and although with the aluminum color rims it looks good I think black would set it apart. This is what I'm thinking

After I plastidip rims ....this is photoshopped:

If you plan to spray with a gun, you may check out Raail. They have a lot more colors than Plasti Dip and the airwrap line is beginner friendly. I believe Raail offers factory color matching too but the price wasn't cheap. http://www.drpigment.com/view-raail.html

Halo offers cans too and honestly I like their product a little better than plasti dip (in spray can form). http://liquidautoskin.com/infinite-cans/infinite-cans-individual-cans

I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab in Tungsten Metallic and I've plastidipped a few things on the truck. I opted for the black just to compliment the grey. Too much grey (even in different shades) I think can become too much IMO. The black goes with my wheels and stuff too.

I used the "Smoke" plastidip on my first try at doing the bow tie, and it turned out pretty good; however, I ended up changing it to black, which I think looks much better.

Did my lettering in black took awhile but looks good.

Thinking about trying a pattern on my wheels, i have the same ones as above except the gaps are filled in my rims. Has anyone else plastidipped their rims if so any tips? and opinions?

Best case scenario would be to remove the wheels from your vehicle to do this. Like anything you dip, you want to ensure there's no edges after you're done where something could start peeling away under normal driving. If you leave them on your vehicle and do it, make sure you cover everything behind your wheel. Might be common sense... But hey, better safe than sorry!

No they are not, sorry. These ones are matte black from the factory.

Do not use the dark gray...it's not even close. The anthracite is closest and what I used. I'm looking to get 20" rims and one min I want chrome and the next I want black.

Sorry I've been gone all day, but yes wheels. I'm liking the look of the anthracite in your pic UWMad. Do you have any others? I wont do black, it was played out back in 2001 when I had black wheels on my Honda. I wouldn't mind bronze, but don't see that on the dipyourcar.com site, just vintage gold.

I used the Gunmetal Gray Plasti Dip on my badges and on my wheel inserts.

man my buddy plasti dipped his "hubcaps" on his king ranch... lol.. .. i was expecting it to come out like spray paint, but it came out blotchy.... ..his came out f'd... drips, runs.. etc.. .. but as a good friend... "man they can see them drips when your driving.."... wink...

you got to be graceful applying that stuff.. takes time.. and several coats..

the closest i have gotten is graphite metalizer over a black base. But the flake is too strong and it doesn't get the same purple hues that the factory paint does. I have been playing and playing with colors but can't seem to get it 100% there. And IMHO if its not a perfect match its not worth doing grey. I will be doing more testing in the spring to try and get a better match.
