2016 Denali 2500 HIDs

Anyone having problems with the HIDS moving or bouncing when going over bumpy/ gravel roads? Mine is in the shop for the steering problems/ clunking and noticed the new 2017 Chevy Silverado loaner I am driving has the same HIDs. I went over every bumpy road i could find last night to replicate the same thing with my 2500 and couldn't get them to bounce or move whatsoever. any ideas?

Mine bounce/flicker over bumps. Doesn't bother me enough to address it, but I did notice it right away when I bought the vehicle. Hopefully everyone I'm driving towards doesn't think I'm flashing my lights at them.

The sharp cut-off of projector type lights makes it much more noticeable.

So they have a shudder style to them from low to high beams? what do you mean by cutoff? Just curious as to why the Chevy 1500 HIDs do not bounce or move?

Can't say I have noticed mine, bouncing or moving and the roads around here are crap....heaved up.

I was told by the dealer that the shudder on the HIDs is causing the bounce/flicker of the lights nothing they can do. i call BS, I just took video of the 2017 1500 im driving and the HIDs are the exact same from low to high they have some shudder that clicks when you engage the brights. So why does this 1500 on crappy roads/ off road not have the flickering/ moving of the HIDs that the 2500s have?

2500's have a stiffer suspension than a 1500. Unsure if that would be exact cause, but would certainly exacerbate the issue.

Mine does it, enough for me to notice but not enough to draw concern.

Headlights with a cut-off have a sharp line transition from bright to dark, compared to non-cutoff style lights which provide some light higher than this level. With the cut-off, the movement of the light vs nothing line is very noticeable. IMHO, it also makes low beam driving less safe when driving in rolling terrain, since there is zero light above the cut-off, vs reduced lighting above this level on more traditional lighting systems.

I have the same problem with my 2016 3500 Denali. After reading many people going to the dealer and them saying they cant fix it, I just accept it because they throw off some wicked light... but I do have another idea, swap for LED! plenty of new housings to choose from. From my last truck I had LED headlights and they were bright AF! that being said they're fairly pricey and I'm not so sure if there is just a simple LED bulb swap available for the HID system (D5S)

Does anybody have a lifted Denali 2500 or one with 2" torsion keys/ cranked torsion bars that notices it? Just wondering if lifting the front throws the light differently getting rid of the shutter effect or do you have to realign the HIDs?

I will know Saturday night, trucks going in for 3" lift on 35's... will let you know

No still a flicker, nut now I am actually thinking its more the LED DRL strips that are producing it

I went with 3" zone adventure lift (keeps all the CV angles good and it fits in my garage) as for wheels tires I went with 22x9.5 XD 820 0offset and 35x12.5 Nitto Ridge Grappler. Extremely happy with how it turned out, and right now in the process of blacking out most of the chrome.
