05 Silverado Heated Seats

I have an '05 Silverado with heated seats and recently I've noticed that when I try and turn on my seat heater with the switch on the door the lights come on (on the switch) and everything seems to be okay but only stays on for about 5 seconds and then shuts right back off. Know that it cant be a fuse or something too simple because otherwise the switch wouldnt light up at all. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and or had any kind of insight on what the problem may be.

Thanks for any help that I can get!

Your pads are probably burnt up.

The system can tell and turns itself off after a short time. Pull your seat and take the cover off. If yours looks like mine did then you'll wonder why the truck didn't catch fire

Im going to bump this one back up.  Is there a quick way to tell which pad, seat or back, that is burnt out?

Yes. Test the resistance value of the pads. They are all 2 wire sensors. I believe it is 1.2 ohms for good mats. If it is higher or OL replace the mats.
