USB's in center console

My plug works, just the usb's I did read enough to find out that it is somewhat of a common problem. Was just hoping it was a fuse or something did not want to waist a day at the dealership but should be under warranty.

I checked mine and they are the same as yours. I have the front 40-20-40 front seat .

I have bucket seats with the full console to the dash

Jim, just curious what have your issues been with using your dealership for warranty issues? I'm in my 3rd Silverado and have had a few: phone call, appointment, drop truck off, fixed 100% in anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours. End story. I guess I'm one of those whose is afraid I'll start ripping stuff apart and make things worse like a couple others have mentioned....

No real bad experiences, just know how the warranty process works. Take the truck in, hope that it makes the "noise", have them say yes or no if they heard it. A part like this will never be in stock, so they will either try to keep the truck or set up an appointment to come back at a later date to replace it. I am 20 miles from the dealership, which is not a big issue, but for me the cost of the part is far less than the vacation time I have to use to make it work to have it replaced. Plus I like to know how things work and what the "guts" of the truck looks like.

O.K.

USB update..

I knew this would happen. (lol) appointment was for 9:am, arrived right at 9:am. Service advisor comes out and checks me in. After about .5 hrs. he comes out and says We can get the USB's from another dealer here in town will take about 2 hrs. "hhmmmm'" I'm sure it will be no more but we will just say 2 hrs. says the service adv. O.K. I'm thinking its an hour drive home and another hr. back so its a wash I'll wait. So I'm waisting time talking to salespeople looking around on the lot etc... So about noon I'll check back and see what's up. Find salesmen and inquire about my truck. He says they should be finished, checks into it and find out that the part is not here yet.(wow) So at this point I tell him I need a loaner, "sure sir no problem" so I get the car, go eat and drink a rita. I show up back to the dealer @ 2:45 pm asks the girls at the desk is my truck ready ? looks it up , "yea sir it shows complete just waiting on the keys and paperwork". after 15 minutes of waiting for keys and paperwork I have had enough and decide to leave. 3:pm was my limit because of traffic and since the car has no tole tag and the beltway is tag only (no cash) I refused to get stuck in the I-45 traffic. I head home and just as I get almost home a little over halfway .. ding ding ding !! I get a text that my truck is ready!! exactly 1 hr. after they tell me it's ready and waiting for keys and paperwork!! At this point not really ticked at the delay in the repair because I know things happen, delivery's get delayed etc... just didn't want to spend the day at the dealer over usb's. but what does irritate me is that it took 1 hr. from complete to getting paperwork and keys ?????

So I have a question. The truck I bought had no console or center seat. I was able to get a seat with the USB and harness. I put it in last night and I have power to the USB but the radio say No Media Available when my Iphone is hooked up. Anyone know where I need to look to make sure all the connection from the seat to radio are together and tight?

    • I am having similar issues.. 08, 4.8L granted I did had a fender bender and minor damage up front passenger side but I don’t think it had anything to do with it.. I had the high and low pressure checked and my fan for my radiator keeps coming on.. replaced the pressure switch and don’t want to keep throwing parts at it. I did have some minor problems here and there like on long road trips sometimes the ac would get a little warm and then on the highway as soon as I give it a little gas or get a little heavier on the petal it started running cooler. Never had an issue with the ac besides the here and there.. but I also started having issues when I fuel up now it takes a bit to start ( super embarrassing) it runs fine and once started ( only happens after fueling up) starts fine any other time. Could they be related?
    • Spent a small fortune on fuel this weekend.   $6.69 diesel, 18 gallons of that. $6.99 92-octane ethanol free, 10 gallons of that for yard machines $5.59 87-octane for one of the cars, 11 gallons.   $250+ and I didn't even get a tug.   Hormuz ain't Hormuzin again, did not see that coming...LOL
    • Appreciate the advice. I've watched multiple videos. Most showing the most complex for those that have a center console, to one that showed maybe 2 pieces of trim being removed, like 6 screws, pulling back the screen and switch assembly, and installing the inline module. And this was a new/newer Silverado. That didn't look too bad. All the others show alot of trim pieces that need to be removed. I've broken those kind of tabs/clips on my C8 Corvette trying to get to the battery, and that was a lot less clips than what I think is involved here after watching multiple videos and looking at my dash today. I have one on the way. Called a reputable stereo place about installing it and got a "minimum" price of $175. Ouch! Looking forward to seeing what the instructions have to say.
    • Hard to say what the issue might be. Anything from the ability to cool the AC condenser up front, to blend door issues in the HVAC unit, to refrigerant charge, to compressor issues or issues in the lines.   Report back what the techs find on the 29th.   GM has service publications which list acceptable vent temperatures and AC pressures at given ambient temps and humidity. They probably won't touch the system if it's operating within those ranges.   I'm also surprised to hear your 2024 with the L8T is still using R134a? I was pretty sure the HD's had switched to the new refrigerant around 2020.
