Some are only powered with they key on and some are hot all the time. Your owner's manual will tell you what ones, I can't remember specifically which ones they are.

Would help to post what year and model, some of this stuff changes from year to year.

sometimes the HMI brain farts and if you disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 seconds and hook it back up the USBs will work again.

on my 2017 Silverado the console 12v and 2 USB's are only powered when the key is on.

I checked mine and they are the same as yours. I have the front 40-20-40 front seat .

Does the 12 volt plug work in the console?

Yes, I have tried it with a GPS plug and it works fine. From some comments here the 110V in the front bottom dash has been replaced by the dealer on a few vehicles due to a poor converter. Otherwise all the other plugs I have tried work fine (12V, USB, cell phone chargers, etc.))

kind of the same, but not really. I was getting a "static" sound through my iPod when I used it, just through the center console usb's. I just went ahead and ordered one through gmpartsdirect to skip the warranty "fun stuff" and replaced it myself. the odd thing was that I ordered it for my 2016, and the one I received was the same as the one I had in my 2014 with the SD card slot. pretty easy to swap out and no more issues.

Jim,

Do you have a part number? And I agree for a minor issue like this it's easier to just replace it yourself but I'm terrible taking things apart in these vehicles. .

AUX JACK Part # 22990883 Quantity 1 Amount $56.27

this was the part number that I ordered last year in august. it was about 30 dollars less that the local dealers. pretty simple install/removal, just need a small putty/joint knife and some small trim tools if you have them. there is a plug that has a little slack in it, enough to pull out and reinstall the new unit. I would not let it fall back into the console, so have some tape or something to hold it while swapping the unit.

Jim, just curious what have your issues been with using your dealership for warranty issues? I'm in my 3rd Silverado and have had a few: phone call, appointment, drop truck off, fixed 100% in anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours. End story. I guess I'm one of those whose is afraid I'll start ripping stuff apart and make things worse like a couple others have mentioned....
