BDS or ZONE what's the real difference?

I've been looking at the same kit but with the 4" block. I haven't seen any options to switch that, did you call them? Your truck looks good, were you able to fit 35s?

I have the Zone 4.5 on my truck, and I have the 6.5 parts sitting on the workbench ready to go on. I tow with my truck so I need some rake built in for my needs. I like the Zone because it has some rake but not nearly as much as the factory stance.

The truck will ride like stock since the suspension geometry is being maintained. The only item that will affect the ride is the rear shock you choose. I'm running the hydro rear shocks.

Also, strut spacers get a bad name because of their use in cheaper lift kits. Utilizing a strut spacer is actually a practical way to achieve lift as long as the suspension geometry is corrected (i.e. control arm, tie rod, sway bar and CV angles). The more expensive kits include parts (CA drop brackets, taller spindles, sway bar drop brackets) to correct this and therefore cost more.

My truck with a project I brought home the other day:

Well the zone lifts 1700cnd and bds is 2700cnd I do think the actual front shock replacement is nicer then pucks and the warranty seems pretty solid but I could go with zone save a 1000 bucks and just buy some bilsten 5100 shocks for the front can't you and just do away with the pucks?

Which BDS dealer are you going through in Canada??

If you go on Google and type in bds Canada they are in BC and have everything listed on the site. I'm also going to talk to my dealer I think because they tell me they do alot of bds lifts and maybe they can set me up on a good deal

I'm in Ontario. The closest to me is near Toronto, but their site is horrible and they don't list anything. I'm thinking shipping across the Country would be pretty pricy if I ordered from BC. What's the name of the dealer?

Yeah. I see the site with the pricing. I'm assuming this is retail though. So if you're nice to your dealer, they should be able to get you a better deal. Because their cost is not going to be retail for sure. Unless of course BDS doesn't sell for anything less than retail. Hard to believe they would though.

I think I was quoted 3000 or 3200 for the lift installed and with an alignment the cheap ready lift was I think 2100 installed

Which kit was that? They have multiple 4" lifts, but the cheapest one for 2014-16 Sierra 1500's, is $3200 retail from their site.

I'll have to give them a call to see if they have changed anything for the 2017 kit. It's not listed on that site.

I'm talking about pricing my gmc local dealer went over with me for the lifts. They stocked a ch approach ready lift installed for 21/2200 and the bds was around 3200 or so I believe

Is jump all over that $3200 installed if I were you. That sounds very reasonable considering the prices on the BDS Canada site.

Keep us in the loop on how you make out.

Won't probably be till summer when I pull the trigger I'm focused on paying the truck off first then pulling the trigger on lifts

    • Are you going to take long trips in it?  If so, try out the seats in the various trims. For me the lower trim level seats were not comfortable.
    • I have a 2016 that I bought new and still own. I'm around 129,000 miles now. The biggest problem was a transmission failure about 2 years ago around 95000 miles. No warning, just failed while driving down a back road. A reman GM transmission installed and it's been fine ever since. A few other minor problems along the way. I am in no hurry to replace it. It's been paid off long ago and do plan on driving this as long as I can.   I will admit I am leery about all the additional electronics in the newer models and feel that it is just more potential problems. I think there's actually more than I would have wanted in this 2016 but so far so good. I think even if something major like lifter failure happened, it would still be cheaper to at worst, drop a new engine in than buy a new vehicle.
    • I’ve own several successful businesses. I’ve bought homes and lived in different states. I’d witness several generations buy homes and survive in different economic circumstances. You get awful sippy when people have different experiences than you do. You live a life. I’ve lived a life. It seems our experience has been different. You can point out generalized statistics. Some people learn how to thrive when the odds are against them. Living in different states does make a difference in a persons quality of life and economic outcomes and opportunities. That’s a fact Jack. It’s my truth, my life. Hard work and long hours the right environment made my families life easier. And yes moving to a different state increased the odds of that happening. Stats are generalized. People who thrive don’t make excuses. They beat the odds. Others get mad and point to those statistics. I guess that’s you. My post pointed out how you helped people beat the odds. Somehow your panties got in a wad. Go figure.
    • Good question, I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the HD. I will check and get back to you.
    • Point of the post sir was that while both wages and cost are rising EVERYWHERE; the cost is rising faster EVERYWHERE than the ability to buy EVERYWHERE.
