Muffler recommendations

I just put the carven tr muffler on my 16. I left the rear resonator because I didn't want drone. But if I can take it off I will. And how loud is it because I don't want loud

 

I do have a dynomax mini muffler I bought I could out in place of the resonator to quiet it down a little

It's not bad at all. It's a lil loud on cold starts but very mellow idle but you can hear it when you get into it. The drone is just barely noticeable I don't even pay attention to it.

I think if I do decide to do more than I have, I'll do something like that. I would need to hear it in person because to my untuned ears it sounds similar to my truck now. (In my defense I came from an ecoboost f150 that sounded like a dieing motorboat) lol

 

I think a custom dual exhaust removing the 3rd cat would be pretty nice too!

I hear you. I had a muffler delete for a year then put the Carven on and deleted the resonator and flapper. It is a little louder at idle but driving it is a world of difference imo it's how a truck should sound from the factory.

What about v4 mode. That's what I'm really worried about. I can handle a little normal drone but I've heard my buddies with no resonator in v4 with my old borla. I wanted to shoot myself

Mine sounds fine all the time, I left the flapper (but bolted it open) but I still have my resonator. Mine has active noise cancelling in the cab so I'm not sure if that's helping a lot?

Drone isn't bad at all you can barely hear it on the highway in v4 mode.

So,if I were to cutout the resonator and put in my dynomax mini race muffler I'd be OK? I have a shorter run than you so it might be different on mine. And I have 2 carven stainless tips coming that I'll email running straight out the back
