dave07 Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 No, dealers are doing as little as possible. If they don't see a code thrown or have an obvious TSB issue, they won't look into it. Nobody is going to pay a tech to troubleshoot a knock/tick until the source of thr problem is obvious and GM is footing the bill. It's common acorss the auto industry. Google "Coyote 5.0 knock" and see how many obnoxiously loud 5.0's actually get warrantied for an unidentified knock, despite clearly being a mechanical issue. The answer is not many. Ha, this happened to my 5.0, Ford said it was normal. It sounded a lot like the OP's video.
warhead2002 Posted February 25, 2017 Author Posted February 25, 2017 Yeah. They told me with out a code there is nothing they can do. My friend has the sierra and his makes that noise. But not as loud. And thegeek. Im with you on this one. It soulds like irs coming from the torque converter area. That is where the noise is centered from.

bearcat1945 Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 mechanics need to check the flywheel bolts for any loose ones or cracked plates where the bolts are torqued to the converter.
2strokesmoke Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Bad lifter, or torque converter! I'm betting on the converter being sloppy and unbalanced. Start an open dialogue with 1-800 GM first! Then have them inspect those areas for known tsb and finallt an inspection. Good luck
