Anyone have any video of what a 5.3 sounds like when it drops down to 4 cylinders?

I would assume this sounds kind of funky going down the interstate?

Excuse this method... but this is how it sounds me.

 

Close your eyes and imagine.. this is your exhaust tone. (Borla dual pipes).

Wow that bad? My dad just picked up a '17 Silverado a few weeks ago and was looking at Borla. Not even my Carven R muffler sounds that bad.

Get a tune and Disable V4 mode problem solved. As a bonus weird throttle tip in feeling is also gone. The borla sounds AWSOME!

I'm looking into one of the range OBD II plug ins that disabled V4..is that what gets rid of the throttle tip in, or was it something else in the tune?

Wow that bad? My dad just picked up a '17 Silverado a few weeks ago and was looking at Borla. Not even my Carven R muffler sounds that bad.

It's just the v4 mode. I've learned to like it because it means I'm getting better mpg... but still. It sounds best in v8

Is it that noticeable? My Carven does have V4 shutter but I'm 20 and don't mind it at all. Actually I want my truck even louder then it already is.

You need headers then. Guy I know has a 2016 with the long tube headers and the same borla exhaust I have. Cold start sounds like it's a cam'ed motor. Blub-blub-blub-blub.... wot throttle is amazing in his truck as well. It's just the v4 thing which the exhaust wasn't made for.

I have warranty until 100k and only have 7k miles on it so far so I'm not ready for headers yet. I'm in California which long tubes aren't legal I believe and not sure if shorties will make that big of a difference.

Don't get me wrong, I love the exhaust.. I just need to disable the v4 as others have suggested. But like you, I have 100k miles and don't want to blow the warranty

I have no idea. It might be an atak. I'm not sure. But it's dual out then back. I think there is only one type they have that's dual out the back.

The Borla you ordered direct from Borla? Which kit? It has a flapper!?

 

I am looking at getting the Borla Touring #140570 dual rear exit just like that.

 

Wondering if I go thru GM # 19303341 will it be any different than ordering thru Borla?
