How big is the gas tank?

I believe you are right don’t know where I got 36 from. After the warranty is up I have heavily thought about swapping a tank in from a gas 2500.  And not towing the truck does great on fuel. But towing our 27’ TT which is 5860lbs empty I barely get 190-200 miles. And I do not drive over 65mph towing period.

No worries, I did the same exact thing. I knew the standard one for 1500's was a 26 gallon so I accidentally confused it and kept saying the extended was 36 gallon too. I always guessed that my 2007 Silverado had a 36 gallon tank on it as well. I remember having some close calls for running out of gas. Just being out in horse country and being a good distance from a gas station lol. By that I remember guessing that I had 36 gallon tank, which means it was probably always the 34 gallon.

I do not think you can upgrade can you? Because the wheel well is what blocks you from installing a larger tank right? I could be wrong but I thought that was the main reason.

My cc 6.5” bed is the same dimensions as a 2500 cc. The mounting is probably not there. I own an odd truck that was barred to find then the reg CCSB. It a nht(max trailering) crew cab 6.5’ bed. Only thing I don’t like is it’s Cajun red tint coat. But I could not find a silver one.

Looks like bad news for me. I filled it up yesterday and had just under a quarter tank (1/4). I think it took right in the neighborhood of 20 gallons. So I think 14 more gallons would be a long shot?
