Buying New OEM 18" Aluminum Wheels / Tires Complete

The wheels are new unused take-offs with sensors from the dealer who does lift kits with larger wheels and tires so they keep the OEM sets for sale. They will replace my OEM chrome 275/55/20's. Speedo difference will be negligible.

 

I may have a choice of tire makers. Besides the Goodyear Wrangler SR-A's 265/65/18, what other OEM makers can be found the 18" OEM wheels? Any preferences that I should choose from? Any issues with the sensors in the DIC?

Don't get the sra tires. My dad has those and he hates them. Go for the Bridgestone dueler all terrains. If they are gm sensors and rims I think the dealer can reprogram it for you. You will have to do a relearn on the tpms sensors anyway.

What are you doing with the chrome 20's? Are these the ones you are talking about?

They are the ones, I don't like them but my son likes them for his vehicle! Maybe it's just me but those OEM 18" aluminum wheels are about the best looking I've seen (IMO).

For what it's worth I like my 20's but do not like the SRAs.

I should have also stated that I don't go "off road" so All Season tires suit me just fine.

Im at 20k with my sra's and anxious for the new rubber. I have the polished oem 18's and love the look myself.

From what I understand Michelin Ltx is best road tire people speak of for our trucks. super quiet tire. I personally probably will get the firestone tires in all-terrain. I noticed you can't get the Michelin in all-terrain for this particular tire size. however plenty of road tire options out there. I think you will enjoy the wheel size change to 18's.

Tire choices were Goodyear Wrangler OWL SR-A's and Goodyear Wrangler OWL Fortitude HT's, both All Season tires. Wheel sets were new aluminum dealer take-offs. I chose the Goodyear HT set for no special reason. I put less that 7,500 miles a year on a vehicle so I'm more concerned with dry rot rather than wear mileage. The 18" OEM's will cut ~54 LBS of weight from the OEM 20 with 275/55/20 Continentals, not earth shattering.

Bridgestone Dueller A/T RH-S were on my truck from the factory. These were pretty good when new for an all terain. By 25,000 miles, a lot of the siping was gone and with it a lost of confidence in the rain, they were getting progressively louder on the highway. Replaced them at about 33,000 miles with Michelin Defender LTX M/S in 275/65-18. With the exception of hard off-road, fantastic tire in every aspect. We just had another good snowfall here (snow, ice, drifting snow) truck drove through everything, yet drives down the highway with comfort and quiet.

Back to OEM LTZ: Takeoffs, flat new, complete with OEM TPMS, less than 10 miles (no lugs). Dealer has a few more of these sets, OWL or black, Good year 265/65/18 SR-A or Fortitude HT.
