I've got about 4k miles on my Range with my 2017, 5.3, 8 speed. Its thrown a CEL probably four times now, I simply just unplug it while driving and plug it back in and boom its gone. I haven't checked to see what CEL its throwing but its definitely originating with the Range. Possibly me knocking it with my knee. Still better than driving in "L" mode and moving the gear selector up every time.

Check engine light a coupe of times also 2017 6.2L just unplug and plug back in on the run. My biggest beef is that most of the time with it plugged in the volt gauge stays close to 12v. With it unplugged the gauge mostly stays past 14v. I know about the charging system fluctuations and have tested this over several weeks and the Range is definitely affecting this. Has anyone else noticed this?

Its cheaper to just drive in M5 (6-speed) or M7 (8-speed) when cruising city/suburb, M6 or M8 when you hit the highway. I had one on my 07 Avalanche and have had issues with having to unplug and replug it back in because it didnt activate on startup. I won't get one for my 2016 Sierra :/

i second this advice, i been driving around in M mode since the first month of ownership on my 16

i created my own shift schedule since the factory tcm is garbage.

by far the best manual mode besides ford (tested it on my cuz 16 f150)

i cant say anything for range device, but would rather spend money on a tune instead

I dont understand why you would want to throw something into your ODBII, it causes check engine lights and still want to run it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So do you upshift and downshift as you drive then? Or set it on a range?

i cant say anything for range device, but would rather spend money on a tune instead

I want to get a handheld tuner or do blackbear. But I'll wait for the warranty to expire I think.

Manual up and down. Also i have around 10k miles, plus truck stops quickly when gearing down also makes the flowmaster sing sweet music..

1-3 i dont pay attention to,

4th at 30mph

5th at 35+ Or 4th if i am in a area where i cant keep close to 35mph I think the tcm has it shifting around 32mph?

6th around 50mph

For programmer i am probably gonna get one around year 3 of ownership i had one on my 11 ram hemi that went from lame to oh my...

same here i got a $9 code reader that looks at the cel and tells me what the computer is doing.

i agree, plus manual mode don't keep it from changing to v4 mode when on the highway. Also, if you check there website, they tell you to start vehicle first, let idle 20 seconds, then plug in device. that will clear cel, and keep it from popping up for a while.

No change to V4 in manual mode as long as you're not in 8th gear. Range R8.1 is the version I'm running on 2017 Yukon Denali - no issues, no lights, works fine.
