Cup holder removal

Anyone know how to get the cup holder insert out of the console on a 2000 Silverado? I have some gunk built up just around the edge and need to remover it to properly clean it.

It just snaps out, but its pretty tight, especially if you've spilled pop around the edge -- that sugar really sticks. Try (carefully) using a wide blade screwdriver under the edge on the sides to get it started. It should come loose...
