Won't engage transmission

I have a 93 suburban and I went to start and drive it today and the transmission won't engage. I can put it in any gear and it's like nothings there. Like it's in neutral. Plus my emergency brake light is on and won't go out. When I started checking fuses I started pushing on the transmission fuse and it motor died a few times. But after I pulled the fuse and put it back in it runs fine but still won't go into gear.

Check the linkage at the transmission.

It's the transmission. Previous owner lied. It was never rebuilt and the pump went up
