Bed rail lighting. Harness plug end?

if you look up into the junction block while laying on your back under the truck. cant remember if i had to remove the spare tire? dont think so.   There is only 3 pins. One is switched power from the cab. one is ground and the other if i remember correctly was linked to the brake lights for some reason.  should be easy to figure out as they were opposite corners etc .

So the 8 pin harness only has a power and ground. I would assume that i dont need the 3rd wire either on the 6 pin thats linked to the brake lights just for the cargo switch to power the bed lights?

what year and model is your truck? Your description says LTZ z71 6.2. That would be a 1500 truck and could be different than my 16 HD ?  I dont remember it being an 8 pin plug. Only 4 or six.  A test light will get it figured out in less than 5 mins. Do you not have the correct harness? Or? Sorry its been a while since i looked at it.

I have the 8 pin harness for the 2500s. I was looking for the 6 pin pin out. I was just gonna swap ends. I got it all figured now. Thanks though!

I recently bought a 17 Silverado and just found out about bed lights. My cargo light isn't working, so would that prevent the bed from working? Gonna test bulbs in cargo first, then fuse to see if I can fix it, then troubleshoot bed. My driver side bed light has a pigtail with a plug on it hanging out into the bed. Is that normal or is something unhooked?

The third connection for brake lights is for people with a truck topper. You can run another wire to get your third brake light to work correctly on the topper. There is a service bulletin on it somewhere.
