GM Keyless Entry Keypad - New GM Accessory

Well considering I can unlock my truck with my Onstar app (free for 5 years I believe it is?), this would be useless to me. My phone is always on me.

Anybody seen this? I just noticed it on the GM accessory sites. Pretty cool idea. It says just for 2017, but I wonder if it will work on older trucks. It appears to just be another version of a key fob. I'm interested for only $125.

Whats the point when you can unlock and start from your cell phone anywhere in the world?

First off, that feature goes away after 5 years. What will you do after that?

Secondly, like I said further down, it would be useful when going to the gym, or camping, or to the pool, or to the beach.

How about when you're in the middle of nowhere without cell service or in a parking garage. The parking lot I use at work doesn't even have cell service. Just that one dead spot in the city. I added it and I love it. Just don't like the look so mine is not in a noticeable spot.

This only works on 2017, due to the needed programming from the dealer.

I personally like the idea and wish I could get it on my 2016 but no such luck.

Mine is installed by the dealer but how the heck  do I program it to a different number? I can't find anything on the internet about it

Found it.

Enter 5 digit factory code. Press 1/2 for 1 second. 8/9 Will flaw to show unit is in programming mode. Within 5 seconds of each digit, enter new 5-digit code. Door will unlock-lock-unlock to show programming is successful.

Kinda bs that it doesn't work on earlier models. They would be able to sell so many more.
