03 2500hd trailer plug problems NEED HELP

I have 03 Chevy 2500 with 6.0 motor. When I turn on the left turn signal both the right and left turn signal has power to the trailer plug and both fuses in the cab of the truck. What would cause this a bad ground? Where would the ground be? Where does the power come from to the trailer turn signal fuses

Sound like a bugger of a problem.

The signal switch on the column might be the culprit. How many KM on the truck? If km's is up there then be the first place I'd look and start ringing out the connector and the switch itself looking for an open line, or a ground short.
I would also remove the lower bash cover (drivers seat) and the metal shielfd behind it.. put the turn signal on, key on, and then wiggle all the connectors around the
BCModule as well as any connector on the column. Any connector that experiences motion from when the steering wheel is tilted can be subject to fatigue. Tilt the wheel a few times and observe the wire loom flex. Check the loom for any wear spots, or any buggered wires where the tape is worn away. Usually its pretty good under-there, unless someone has been into it ahead of you.

There should be a velcro 'sock' thing that needs to go back on the loom before any panels go back on. The reasoning for the metal panel under the fiber one is to prevent any steering gear from protruding up during an accident and impaling the driver. So it be wize to put it back.. even though it seems redundant.

The teensy spring-clips inside the various box end connectors behind the dash tend to relax over time and break contact with the pins inside due to the column wire loom reefing on it. Ten+ years of tilting can take its toll. The column itself is grounded to the dash which is in turn grounded to the body then the frame. To check if there is a ground loop active in the column just toot the horn.

Hope this helps.. good luck.

Had an issue with turn signal on 2001 GMC when trailer was hooked up. Turned out to be 4 way flasher button on steering column. When pushed to one side signals would work.
