Fuel Lines No Longer Available

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD,8.1 engine, with leaking fuel lines. I was told today that replacement fuel lines for my truck have been discontinued. Help!

Is that your dealer saying that? might be true that GM has stopped manufacturing replacement parts but surely to goodness Rock Auto or someone in the aftermarket business can hook you up?

Head over to NAPA. They have em. Or can get em in. NO need to visit the stealership parts department on something as old as your truck when there are better parts out there for much less.

Yes, gm manufacturers/stockpiles parts for a truck for a certain number of years, then it's over. You can either track down new "old stock", or 3rd party parts. I was surprised to find out GM still had replacement brake lines for my '04 Sierra truck (but perhaps they made an exception for the brake lines because they were known for rusting out...).

Local repair center found replacement lines at linestogo.com. I also decided to replace the fuel pump as well since it is also original equipment. I can afford to put money in this old truck rather than replacing it. Thanks for the replies.

It's not hard to fabricate fuel lines if you buy the tools. Friend has a Suburban diesel that age and we had to bend lines for it. Just removed the factory ones and bent the new ones to match.

It's not to hard as we were working on replacing the gas tank and his 18 year old daughter bent up the lines. :)

Fabricating new lines probably would not be a problem if I had a way to work under the truck. Also the lines appear to be leaking on top of the fuel tank so it would have to be dropped. I decided to replace the fuel pump as a precaution. I know from personal experience that you really do not have any warning when they decide to quit working. Thanks again for all your input. Murph

If there is a leak at the top of the fuel tank 99% probability it's the pump. Unless you want to get stranded somewhere don't replace it with an off brand spring for an AC Delco pump.
