Yes, please post some pictures of where this is happening. I have not seen this happen before but I suppose it's possible after reading another forum member's chrome GM running boards started to peel... I would think this might be possible if a large object/rock hit it on the highway and started some damage that has gotten worse.

 

But again, pictures would be helpful

mine is in shop now for pitted corroded running board

replacement of 110v inverter

and a new BCM to cure the service 4wd light

Warranty, BAMM! I haven't seen anyone else with this issue but it is bound to happen when you sell 100,000+ trucks a year.
