Keagan Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Hey guys, I have a Two part question. 1) What's the factory part number for a 2015 Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 tpms sensor, I've seen different ones and are they the manual ones or programmable ones? 2) Would a missing or damaged tpms sensor cause your abs, stabilitrak or traction lights to come on and stay on? Let's say you have a spare on. Thanks, Keagan
newdude Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Hey guys, I have a Two part question. 1) What's the factory part number for a 2015 Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 tpms sensor, I've seen different ones and are they the manual ones or programmable ones? Don't go aftermarket. Most require a cloning tool. Head to your dealer and grab one. 2) Would a missing or damaged tpms sensor cause your abs, stabilitrak or traction lights to come on and stay on? Let's say you have a spare on. No, unless your tires that are normally on the truck are of a bigger diameter than stock, in which case, the truck would see a wheel speed issue and then freak the traction/abs/stabilitrak. Example...the spares are usually a 265/70/17, same diameter as a 265/65/18 OE tire and 275/55/20 OE tire. Now, say you've switched to a bigger tire than stock, and then had to use the spare. Then you'd have an issue.
Keagan Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Ok I was wondering if the tire size for spare at 265/70/17 and original 275/55/20 were of the same diameter due to the spare being taller. Thanks for the clarification there.
BigBadSierra Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Dirty or faulty wheel speed sensors tend to be the issue for the the lights you have staying on. Also check the connections on them as well.
Keagan Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 That's another thing I've read on them or sometimes it's a wheel bearing. Are these trucks like some where it's the whole hub assembly or it can be swapped out by buying just the bearings? Lol it sure is a lot of lights
