2016 Silverado Wireless Charging

Has anyone been able to utilize the wireless charging feature in the 2016+ with a DIY solution?

I have the Bezalel Wireless charging case for my Iphone 6s and not only is it not very aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but it doesn't protect the phone worth a damn. I will say though, it does work well.

I purchased a Qi wireless card for cheap on amazon (people said it works with wireless charging docks, so I assumed it worked for our trucks), but it is not recognizing it. Below is the one I purchased-

Maybe there is a different card I should be using? Any input is much appreciated!

Its more of your phone needs to be in just the right spot for it to charge. I have a Samsung S7 Edge and just laying on the pad, it won't charge. With the top of the phone pointing towards the stereo, I have to lift the bottom and slide the phone back until it drops into the grooved area. Once the charging starts, then I can slide it forward and lay it flat and let it continue to charge. Honestly its faster to plug my fast charge wall charger in.

Unfortunately I have tried all angles with this and attempted to prop it up on the raised rubber part too with no luck. Too bad iphone doesnt have the wireless feature like the Samsung.....

When I knew I was getting my truck this past October I knew I wanted to get a phone case so I could use the charging pad on my truck. I searched online and found one called Antye. It's from China so I was skeptical of its durability and even if it would work but to my surprise it has held up quite well. It only cost me $19 for the case. Don't get me wrong its pretty plain and nothing flashy but it definitely does its job.

Samsung note 7 and Samsung S7 do not work. I talked to a gm rep and they said they were not meant for them. Samsung s6 works just fine everytime though. not sure why they would put in wireless charging that doesnt work with all phones. doesnt make much sense.

with that being said, the S6 charging is really good

You can thank the long development cycle of vehicle manufacturers; the wireless charger in the console is old and doesn't work with modern phones.
