Do I need a cam??

Sorry to hear that. My G8 L76 didn't have it, neither does my wife's '07 5.3. Were you able to get your hand between the water pump and the cover to feel for the bump?

So.... I installed the new stage one cam & vvt delete. Truck Idles and revs fantastic now. Problem is when I drive it & the code on my CEL. I have a p0010 that comes on right after I reset it & when I drive it, it shifts horrible. It slams into every gear like its in limp mode. What do I do now? will a custom tune get that code off & make it shift any better? I honestly dont have any more money to throw into this POS!

It needs a tune if you eliminated the vvt.

I don't know how 90% of the people said this is a non vvt engine. Now I'm F********

 

Keep everything but the cam. Get a vvt cam and phaser limiter. More options and I've been looking a lot into this. I have an 09 avalanche with the vmax. As soon as my after market warranty is up im going with a vvt cam and phaser limiter. I'll need new springs and pushrods. Probably going to go with the trunion upgrade and keep the stock rockers. It's not going to be used as a race car so I don't need the high rpm capabilities of roller rockers. Personal choice tho

I finished everything yesterday. I bought the stage 1 non vvt cam from BTR & went to summit and got the VVT delete kit. After it got tuned now it runs smooth as hell. Getting headers soon & removing cats and should be pushing close to 400 rwhp
