Bpounds1991 Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Hey everyone, New to this forum and after doing some research (vehicle mods are completely foreign to me) I decided I wanted a slight upgrade from the stock rims and tires. Aside from the fact that I'm due for new tires, they just look undersized for the truck (2015 Sierra 1500 SLE) at 255/70/17. In terms of speedometer/odometer changes, would there be an effect, if any, moving up to 265s on 18's? I'm planning on adding a leveling kit as well. Thanks for any input! -Brandon
powerhaulic Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Go to the tire rack site and it will let you check sizes vs diameters. easiest place to start
Bpounds1991 Posted April 26, 2017 Author Posted April 26, 2017 I did, sorry let me rephrase my question better lol at what size tire increase on the Sierra 1500s with a level kit do you run into speedometer, odometer, and wheel well issues? That's a question I haven't been able to get a clear answer on with anything I've looked up.
Donstar Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Welcome! You will find a lot of information on the topics of tires and leveling in this forum. There is some very worthwhile reading. Also, Powerhaulic's suggestion was a good one. You will find that you can increase wheel size and width without impacting your speedometer. A 265/65/18 or a 275/55/20 upgrade will have no noticeable impact as these are stock sizes and similar diameters.
Bpounds1991 Posted April 26, 2017 Author Posted April 26, 2017 Sounds good Donstar i'll be reading those, thank you very much!
