Diamond Eye Performance Exhaust

Anyone running this exhaust on a 5.3? I have a few buddies running this exhaust on their diesels and they don't have any complaints,but just wanted to see if any of you guys were running it.

I can get a cat back stainless system for under $300 from this shop locally and I figured I'd just install it like I did on my old truck which I had a MBRP.

THoughts?

Had one of there systems on a 05 duramax and quality was great, I would imagine quality is the same on a gas system

Only thing that makes me nervous is the price, you always get why you pay for.

First time hearing about this exhaust brand. I guess for the price it may be worth a shot or spend a little extra and get one of the well known setups.

Just can't see spending $600 plus on a MBRP as I only keep my trucks 4-5 years, but the aluminized systems suck especially here in Wisconsin. The salt will destroy it in a few years.

Any other brands you would recommend?

Why not just do a muffler swap out ............

Dont want to hack up a brand new truck lol. Yeah I shouldnt be such a cheap ass but just not a fan of cutting up a brand new truck.

U kidding me - it's all about the mods - the OEM muffler is welded in - so will the replacement muffler - big deal - well it will be a big deal when you hear the new tone...........

Well exhaust will be here next week, I'll let you know how it goes and I'll post a video of what it sounds like. If it sounds like ass then I'll swap out a different muffler...

Money well spent!!! Kit came perfectly packaged and went together flawlessly. Only thing I would have to say was bad was directions sucked but common sense will get you through the install and the clamps were your standard clamps which I'm going to swap out for the flat band style clamps as I do have a minor leak on one pipe.

Installed it with the truck on jack stands and from start to finish took 62 minutes.

The sound is great! Deep throaty sound and not too loud but sounds deep.

I will post pictures and a video clip after I get the leak fixed and my tips come tomorrow.

I've got the system on mine, swapped out the muffler for a magnaflow. I think I'm going to try a bola xr1 next, not too crazy about the time on it now. Only thing I don't like about the diamond eye is the exit: went with a single exit and would prefer it stuck out at a 45 rather than a 90. Either going to dump it after the axle or rework the tailpipe.
