S10 heater Core

I have a 2001 S10 4 wheel drive V 6 , I have I think is a leaking heater core,but haven't pin pointed it yet. I have seen fluid dripping on the ground from out side the vehicle, it looks like its coming from from behind the motor between the fire wall, I have noticed it dripping on the left side looking up from under neath the vehicle. the inside carpet is not wet and I do not get a foggy windshield when I turn on defroster, My main question is there a drip hole in the box that houses the core that leads to the outside fire wall, for leaks? and if its not the heater core what might it be? I have disconnected the heater hoses and put a bypass hose and I haven't seen any leaks since, I know its a job to replace a heater core in this truck that is why I need to know what it may be before taking on the function. You could check the A/C drain hose for coolant. Then you'd know for sure.

Could just have a leaky hose. Otherwise, you'd have a wet carpet. Heater core is in the center on these ones. Coolant could be running down a million other parts and coming out on the left side.
