1500 transmission fluid change...

Ok, I'm a 2500hd owner and dropping the pan for a filter change is relatively easy.

The company acquired a 2007ish 1500 4wd with 176k miles (it was bought by them new, but dedicated to a particular site). Fluid isn't horrible, but definitely needs changed and the local garage won't touch it...so I'm going to drop the pan and change the filter and fluid. As far as I can tell, it's a 4spd...runs pretty good.

I think I remember reading that the 1500 isn't as simple as the 2500, where the exhaust needs unbolted? Is that true?

Wow, looks like I got out of that work quicker than I got in...local shop quote is at $3500, and that isn't even diagnosing the check engine or the faulty blend door/heater issue. With 176k, and probably $5k for needed repairs; looks like it will be taking a trip down the road.
