2014 AT w/ Bose - Verify Subwoofer Functionality??

Recommended Posts

Guys,

I bought my truck pre-owned, and I know that the previous owner had aftermarket subs in the back. That said, I just can't convince myself that the stock Bose sub is firing. I guess that makes sense - if I put aftermarket subs in a truck, I might be inclined to 'disable' the stock, under-performing bass as well.

Any ideas how I can either confirm or deny that the sub is functional? I could just pull the center console and feel it, I suppose. Trying to be as efficient as possible.

If YOU were going to disable your Bose, how would you disconnect it? At the amp? At the sub? Somewhere in between?

Thoughts?

Thanks

Well hell.... pulled off the side panel and stuck a work light behind. No wonder there's no bass.

Was there a Bose option WITHOUT the sub? I guess so?

I thought the Bose system was 6 speakers with a sub, 2 speakers being tweeters in the a pillars. :happysad:

I have a Kicker for sale ?

If it has Bose from the factory and a center console it has a sub ----- or had one.

Weird. I just reached out to the previous owner, and he told me he didn't pull it out either.

Maybe this is an early 2014 model? I did notice that the rear bumper also doesn't have the side steps.

My '03 with Bose had a sub in the center console. I think it's been that way for a while.

Just another option , Memphis Audio SA 110spd was installed in my truck when I found out that the Kicker I bought was for the Double cab .

It makes the factory system sound 100 times better !

Fits under the seat nice and clean too !

Is your truck an SLT or SLE? I know early models that were SLE All Terrain had Bose on the door panel speaker trims but were not Bose at all. Check the rear firewall to see if you have the Bose Amp.

Why were Bose symbols on doors when no Bose system in truck?

I think it might be there, they do not look like what you think they might. $_14.JPG

I'll check the window sticker for clarification when I get home, but there is NOT a Bose amp on the rear firewall.

Well i guess your truck is one of those. If you have the LED accent headlights you will see that as an upgrade in the window sticker which makes it look like an SLT but it does not have Bose at all. I remember seeing these weirdly equipped All-Terrains when I bought my 2014 SLT in November of 2013.
