LED taillight upgrades?

I think tomorrow I will put the stock rear side marker lights back in and see what happens when I use right blinker with lights on.

I just have a feeling that has something to do with my issue since it only happens when all lights are on.

That would frustrate me, I hate electrical problems

What resistors did you use? Sounds like not enough resistance.

Or a bad connection with the resistors. If you could post pictures or video that might help. This is one modification I may be able to help with. I have changed every bulb on my the back side of my truck to LED. Except the bed lights of course. (already LEDs)

It's gotta be something simple there is not much to mess up with going to LEDs. Install resistor across green and black wires, install LED, put taillight back in boom done.

But if he's not getting a hyper flash during the day with his blinker on why would it happen at night?

Well, I reinstalled the halogen side marker bulbs and didn't fix the problem. I then rewired the resistors to the black and green wires and the problem persists. I am truly at a loss. If it was wired wrong or if a resistor was bad, it would happen all the time, not just when all the lights were on. Right?

Maybe someone can tell me what voltage to look for at the connector and I could measure it with my meter.

That's what I'm saying, it can't be the resistors. My thought is it might be one of the bulbs having a short.

Are you using Phillips? Or a brand that uses the Square lights like this?6fabfc89b502828f44323699a0be6ca6.png

The reason I ask is because if one of those lights goes out the whole thing will flicker, Thus causing your running light to not flow proper and would cause a hyper flash.

I don't think it's that then. If you have a buddy that has leds I would try their bulbs to see if it fixes it.

I actually got them from theretrofitsource.com

I did accidentally drop one of the right side ones on the driveway, but all the LEDs are working.

My good sir, you have got yourself a pickle

I think I'll go ahead and get some of those cheap gold resistors and see if that helps any. Maybe one of the resistors isn't working properly when there's a heavier load on the circuit. If that doesn't work, then I have no idea.

I'll also email retro fit source support and see what they think. They were awesome when one of my relays went bad on my HID kit.

It's worth a try. My only advice is to buy extra "splitters" if you drop one of the blades is stops existing, you'll never find it.5b152461fd09850c3365dbe0f7e53977.png

I am looking to upgrade my marker and tail lights. I see that bulb # is 7443 but there are a ton of different styles out there. Is there a general consensus on which brand, style, type that work good in the 2014s.

Thanks

I've got a similar problem but with mine, the brake lights don't work if the parking lights are on. With the bulbs installed, resistors in place on all four bulbs and the parking lights on, left and right blinker work fine with no hyper flash, step on the brake and nothing happens. Turn the parking lights off, left and right blinker work fine with no hyper flash, step on the brake and brake lights work fine, nice and bright. Weird situation, never had it happen to me before. I tested all wires and everything is working fine.

Now if I remove the resistors, which are 50 or 60w, can't remember, all lights work just fine with the exception of me having the hyper flash now. I put the resistors on the black and green wires coming off each bulb socket and tested for good connection, which I had, so I have no idea now. Drove me nuts yesterday when I went to install them. :banghead:

Anyone else have this problem or have seen it before?? Need some help please... :help:

I'm still having the same issue after switching out resistors. I noticed last night that when my blinkers are on, the whole tail light blinks on and off. I was wondering if you guys without problems could see if yours does this too when parking light are on. I'm asking because my front led signals stay yellow as they blink. I'm sure with the stock bulbs being dual filament, stay lit even when turn signals are on. I would appreciate it.
